Piz Balzet 2869 m Route archive

The mighty southwest walls of the Piz Balzet are an eye-catcher to those standing on the dam at Lägh da Albigna. The "spirit" of this wall is sought out and found again and again. Leading directly through this face is a great traditional route, though this is rarely undertaken. More popular is the South Ridge which leads up to the main summit. Both tours are among the most rewarding climbs in the Albi region. On Piz Balzet there are also a number really good "pleasure routes" (a look at the homepage of the Albigna hut is worthwhile). Additionally, in the southern walls between Piz Balzet and Piz Bacun some great lines were opened up years ago, especially on the first tower of the Bacun SW ridge. But there is still potential for a lot of new development!
