A very long, but technically simple hut approach, from Fiescheralp over the Aletsch glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. Start at the mountain station of the Fiesch - Fiescheralp cable car, cross the alpine meadows and pass through the long tunnel which takes you to Märjela. From here join the Aletsch glacier below the former site of Märjelasee. Only small lakes and ponds remain of what was once a large lake here; a wide variety of thriving alpine flora now makes up for it. Follow a long stretch of the more central moraine of the Aletsch Glacier, surrounded by high mountains, and finally reach the hut via a marked track which winds its up high above Konkordiaplatz (the meeting point of three glaciers which causes the two iconic stripes that travel the glaciers length).
