Il Chapütschin 3386 m Route archive

Il Chapütschin belongs to the Sella Group. This includes the summits along the Sella's main ridge, from Il Chapütschin and La Muongia to Fuorcla da la Sella. The Sella Group is probably a bit in the shadow of the neighboring Bernina group, but also offers many beautiful walks and alpine tours. The Sella Group is very popular as a ski tour region. In addition, the Passo Sella is the gateway to the Bernina's south side.

The pyramidal peak rises from Pontresina with its pretty snow cap. The word Chapütschin is derived from the Romansh "chapütscha" meaingin hood / hat / cap, and not from cappuccino!

Il Chapütschin offers ideal routes for beginners.
