A popular ski mountain, though also very attractive in summer. Ascents in the summer season are mostly made from the Etzlihütte, as the path through the Val Giuv is endless and leads over many debris slopes. The name Piz Giuv is used on the Grisons side, while in Uri they know it as Schattig Wichel. The very mineral-rich area around the Piz Giuv is often visited by crystal hunters.
