From Urbachtal to the Dossenhütte

A long, scenic and very beautiful path, usually taken as a descent route - the reason being that the Urbachtal has no public transport connection.

Route description

Urbachtal to Schrätteren

From the end of the road in Urbachtal (Mürvorsess on the map) follow the path of the Gaulihütte up to the alpine huts of Schrätteren (1445 m).

Schrätteren - Dossenhütte

After the small bridge, leave the Gaulihütte path and head in a westerly direction on the white-blue-white marked path over Illmestein to Enzen (1683 m). Continue west along the path over grass and screes. After overcoming a rock step around 2500 m (steel cable), bear in a northwesterly direction in the hollow southeast of the Dossenhütte. Finally ascend westwards to gain the hut.
