Route description
Unter dem Birg - to the start of the via ferrata.
From the valley station at Unter dem Birg (1400 m) follow the trail beneath the cableway and across the Ärtelenbach into the forest. Cross a bridge (1428 m) over the Engstligen (here is an information board about the Chäligang via ferrata). Head steeply up over grass and scree, right of the lower Engstligen waterfall and right of a (dry) stream to the start of the via ferrata at the beginning of a obvious ramp (ca. 1530 m, ½ hrs) with one or two pine trees scattered along it, which slopes up to the left.
