Gross Bigerhorn 3625 m Route archive

Gross Bigerhorn (at St. Niklaus also called Balfrinrothorn) is considered the local mountain of Bordierhütte. It is a rock mountain whose NE side is covered by an arm of Balfringletscher. On the W side of Gross Bigerhorn is Klein Bigerhorn. Between them there are small remains of a glacier called Bigergletscher. The panoramic view from the summit is very impressive. Gross Bigerhorn is attractive, as it is the highest summit reachable by hikers (no climbing required). Often its ascent is combined with Balfrin.
