Route description
Griesalp - Gamchi - Gspaltenhornhütte
From the Griesalp (1408 m; terminus of the seasonal bus service from Reichenbach), follow the initially paved, later gravel road over Steineberg (1467 m) to Alp Bürgli (1616 m). From here a flat footpath leads round to Gamchi (1669 m; where word on the street is there's good cider to be had). Soon after comes the free shower (where's that damn brolly?). Continue, refreshed (or disgruntled depending on the flow rate - of both cider and the waterfall), pass Sillere and join the east lateral moraine of the dwindling Gamchi glacier. At P. 2106 (signpost), leave the moraine in a south-easterly direction to amble over grass and scree slopes to the hut at 2455 m.
