The east wall of the Mittagfluh was first climbed in the 70s. The popular (despite having somewhat fragile rock) Sandmeier rib runs along the S-Arete, and is not too difficult. With its beautiful view over the Simmental (valley) and an easy descent, this tour is favoured by many. Some newer routes on the west side of the main summit could be a great add-on, making a satisfying and full day of climbing.
