At first the itinerary is through forest and clearings. Above the alp L’Arpille the tour is sheer pleasure: not too steep slopes and a view opening to the Rhone valley and the Mont Blanc range. The terrain is well suited for a beginner’s tour.
Route description
Ravoire - Mont de l’Arpille
From the bus stop (1109 m, Ravoire, Hôtel) at Les Chesaux follow the road towards Les Rapperins. Shortly after the first hairpin bend take the road to the left leading to La Forêt. Continue on the road northward and then follow a path through the clearing of La Barme with its scattered chalets. Cross a road and ascend south-westward through a thick forest to the chalets of L’Arpille (water reservoir 1830 m). Now pay attention to the recommended wildlife area. It is expressly requested to stick to the existing paths. The route now leads east of the wildlife area to a terrain shoulder and via the hiking trail through the protected area to the summit.
