At sunset, the reddish colour of these great slabs becomes more noticeable and the structures in the upper part clearer. Due of their moderate difficulty and excellent bolting, the routes have become very popular. One or two of them are still real day trips though!
It should be noted that in high summer the sun can turn these slabs into a furnace. The rock reaches unbearable temperatures and climbing becomes a real torment. Good timing is therefore essential: leave early in the morning and take a large supply of water.
All routes of the Red Slab sector and some of the Brunone sector were restored by Eros Villa and Loris Carpineti in 2013.
