Monte Tamaro to the south of the Magadino plain, the highest peak of the range, is known for its view. The starting points Alpe di Neggia and Alpe Foppa are easily accessible, thus the summit is often ascended.
On Monte Tamaro four ridges meet. Viewed from above, they form a cross which encloses four valleys: Valle di Vira, Valle del Trodo, Valle Cusella and Val Giona / Valle Veddasca.
