A long and interesting hut approach.
Since 2006, the summer path no longer leads over the Oberaletsch Glacier, but along a newly created panorama path along the western slope of the Fusshorns.
Route description
Belalp - Lochegga - Oberaletschhütte
From the mountain station of the Blatten – Belalp cable car (2094 m), follow the road northeast to Hotel Belalp. From here descend the mountain path to Hirmi, then take the higher branch to Walkenen. From here the path leads up to the crest of P. 2164, before dropping down again to the bridge across the Oberaletsch Gorge. Follow the path, hewn into the rock, up to Lochegga. Ascend the old side moraine of the Oberaletsch glacier and then zigzag up to Z'Leng Fäsch. Once past P. 2586 there is little more height gain; now follow the newly created panoramic path over numerous gullies and ribs of Jegi and on to the Oberaletsch hut.
