Dötra is a hamlet in a flat depression. The ascent to the cabin is easy, as the forest road is groomed by snowmobiles. From Dötra there are a number of rather short, but picturesque tours in a gentle, quiet ambiance.
Route description
Bifurcation (Bivio) Sommascona - Capanna Dötra
The bus to Campo Blenio stops at Sommascona (969 m). From this hamlet follow the road via Fontanelle and Camperio to Piera (1 h). From Piera (1305 m) take the forest road to Oncedo (1501 m). Normally it is groomed by snowmobiles. At the bifurcation at Oncedo branch off left (north-west). Still following the road, which crosses Val Bogin, you reach the houses at 1690 m. Continue horizontally another 400 m until the hamlet of Dötra. The cabin is in the centre of the set of houses.
Capanna Dötra – summit
From Capanna Dötra (1749 m) ascend westward to Foppe di Pönt. From here continue westward to reach Croce Portera (1917 m) or ascend south-eastward on gentle slopes past P. 1950 to reach the Ör Dangiasch (1959) ridge above the Campra plain.
