The Ortstock forms an imposing backdrop to Braunwald, though seen from the Glattalp it is a rather inconspicuous scree cone. Impressive views down to Braunwald and into Linthtal. Summit cross and summit book. The western "Hinter" Ortstock (P. 2717) is often climbed.
In the south face of the Ortstock is a classic and perfectly arranged route called the Piratenherz (pirate heart).
