Descent from a climbing summit requiring abseils and some easy climbing sections (2a).
Route description
Piz Balzet - Cap. Albigna
Climb down from the summit 30m along the east ridge to a possible abseil. Easy to get the rope stuck here - better is to down-climb carefully to the south through a chimney system, then back up to a saddle (2a). From the saddle, head to the East Tower. Pass this on the left (north side) following red markings, down-climb a little and find the abseil point. Here there are 2 options: from a higher abseil point it is 30m; from a slightly lower one, 25m (down-climbing off this level is much harder and in brittle rock). Both abseils lead down the north side; from the base of the abseils climb 4m down into a gap and cross to the south side. Here is a third 25m abseil (chain in place). This can easily be down-climbed (2a). This puts you in a scree filled shoot with obvious tracks. Follow the cliff base southwest back past several rock pillars to the start of the south ridge. From here follow the route of ascent.

The time depends on your technical skills. Good short-roping skills are helpful and at least 1x abseil is necessary.
