This is a pretty ski tour from Rifugio Saoseo through the picturesque Val Viola. The last stretch is on the Swiss-Italian border.
Route description
Rifugio Saoseo CAS - Piz Cunfin
From Rifugio Saoseo (1986 m) follow the summer trail north-eastward to Lagh da Val Viola. Continue to ascend the small valley on the western bank of a creek to Plan da la Genzana via Campasciol. Now ascend eastward to P. 2455 (boundary stone #6) and continue following the border to reach the summit.
Descent
On the ascent, if the conditions are safe, you can ski down the west face (30–35° on 160 metres of vertical height) and the Coston ridge to reach Plan da la Genzana.
