The normal approach from Arosa. On the way back it is possible to avoid the 120 m re-ascent to Arosa train station. A longer and more difficult but very interesting variant leads via the Alteinsee. This continues on over the Leidfluefurgga - Martiroz Furgga (passes) and was previously marked as an alternative approach.
Route description
Arosa - Welschtobel - Ramozhütte
A mountain road leads from Arosa train station down past the Untersee lake, crosses the railway line and ends on the valley floor near the sewage treatment plant. This is where the mountain path begins, which leads along the west (later NW) side of the Welschtobel valley. At Usseren Sandboden (P. 1868) it crosses the stream and continues directly along the valley to its end, then up to Alp Ramoz. Arc right (W then NW) at the top to locate the hut at P. 2293.
Variant: über Altein und Leidfluefurgga
A longer more interesting alternative leads from the start of the Welschtobel valley in zigzag SE up via P. 1835 to the Altein valley and Alteinsee (2252 m). From there, climb SW up to the pass called Leidfluefurgga and down the other side through the basin of Mittelberg. At is SW corner drop down further into Murterus, a basin beneath the Sandhubel, and from here climb up to a second pass called Martiroz Furgga (2426 m). A short traverse across the NW flank leads to gentler ground from where you can finally descend to Alp Ramoz where the hut is waiting.
