A short ski tour in the vicinity of the Lämmerenhütte, which can be a good addition to the hut approach. From the Rote Totz Lücke, a flattish, panoramic tour with little altitude gain leads to the summit. There are multiple descent options depending on snow conditions.
Route description
Lämmerenhütte SAC - Rote Totz / Roter Totz
From the Lämmerenhütte (2502 m) head out N, then bear NE and ascend the Lämmerental to the Rote Totz Lücke (2802 m). Continue to P. 2830, then along the flat ridge until you come to the steep summit rocks. From here, cross into and traverse the southern flank beneath the summit before ascending to a shoulder to its east. From here arc back west to reach the summit cairn.
Descent
Descend back down Lämmerental.

In general, an ascent on skis via the south flank, below the summit rocks, is preferable to an ascent on foot (short section of climbing, ice axe and crampons may be necessary) via the rocky SW ridge.
