This is a pretty traverse from the Waldemme source to the Emme in the shade of Tannhorn. It is a tour to undertake on days of critical avalanche risk.
Route description
Steinetli summit station (Hundschnubel) - Arnibergegg - Sitenegg
Take two chair lifts of the Sörenberg skiing area to reach Hundschnubel. From the Steinetli summit station of the chair-lift (1689 m) descend westward past Blatten (1532 m) and Blattli to the valley floor. Now ascend in the same direction north of a creek to Arnibergegg (1604 m) via Bärsel (1402 m) and Chäsboden (1545 m). From the summit cross go southeast via P. 1594 to ascend as far as 1620 m. Do not go further up (game reserve)! Descend westward via Arnibergli to a depression. Via Tannigsbodensiten (1466 m) re-ascend to the col below Sitenegg and ascend to the highest point (1530 m).
Sitenegg – Kemmeribodenbad
Descend north-westward to Vorderschönisei (ca. 1135 m) via the secondary summit (1512 m) and Pfosteregg (1435 m). Follow the road across the young Emme at Küblisbühl. Re-ascend a short stretch to Kemmeribodenbad (restaurant) and the bus stop (975 m).
