Located beside the Albigna dam, the granite routes of the Spazzacaldeira east face are among the most visited in Graubünden. The impressive rocky needles of Dente and Fiamma stand out especially. The super-thin rock flake of the route "Flamme" is a "must do" for every climber.
It can get a bit 'cramped' up there on fine days: the approach is short thanks to the cable car. If the weather is good, the cliff can adopt a climbing centre atmosphere.
The altitude, its vulnerability to thunderstorms and the occasional loose rock sections can however make climbing on the Spazzacaldeira a serious affair.
