The shortest and most convenient way to get to the Spitzmeilen hut. Often done by snowshoers and practically always groomed. With the new Panüöl - Maschgenkamm chairlift, the way back has become even easier. If you want to do without the cable cars, ascend the piste from Tannenbodenalp. The approach from Schilstal, which is often used as a descent from the hut, is quieter and much longer, but more exposed to avalanches.

Route description

Maschgenkamm - Spitzmeilenhütte

From Tannenbodenalp take a cable car up to Maschgenkamm (2008 m). Descend the ski slope until just before the Panüöl huts (approx. 1820 m), then traverse south-west along the cross-country ski track, via Plattis to P. 1836, then on to Fursch (1792 m; tea hut). Follow the marking poles through the centre of the wide valley past Obetweid and Schwarzegg to Bäll (or roughly follow the summer path which has higher avalanche risk) to point 2068. Continue southeast, climbing slightly to approx. 2125 m, and finally slide down to the hut. Fursch can also be reached from other parts of the ski area; the best alternative being the Leist chairlift (2222 m). From the top of the chairlift: ski in a south-west direction via Burstbüel.

Variant from Tannenbodenalp

The ascent from Tannenbodenalp (or Tannenheim) follows the mountain road south from Prodalp, then SW via Panüöl to Fursch. This requires around 1½ – 2 hours and 480 m more ascent.

Descent / way back

Follow the route of ascent. From Fursch 50 m of ascent (cross-country skiing track, snowmobile taxi) to get to Panüöl and from there to Prodalp and Tannenheim. From Panüöl (1804 m) you can also take the chairlift up to Maschgenkamm then ski comfortably down ski slopes on the north side.
