SAC-CAS App | Swiss Alpine Club SAC

SAC-CAS App Enhance your mountain experience

With about 180,000 members, the Swiss Alpine Club has been connecting mountain enthusiasts for over 150 years. Providing easy access to mountain sports routes and safety-related topics, the new SAC-CAS app is your digital companion on your next mountain tour.

As an SAC member, you get free access to all tours and features of the SAC Route Portal and the SAC-CAS app.

At a glance – benefits of the SAC-CAS app

As in the SAC Route Portal, you can also find new tours with the convenient filter and discover your personal mountain experience in the app. Offline maps are useful both during your tour and when planning your next tour. Plan your next tour by saving new destinations to your watchlist and sharing them with your family and friends.

More than 7000 tours by seasoned pros

Draw inspiration from more than 7000 tours, all of which have been compiled by mountain guides and skilled mountaineers. Alongside other attractive features, you can save tour routes to your watchlist and have them displayed in different map layouts.

Offline maps available

On the go without internet access? No problem! Your planned tours and now also any map sections are available to you even without an internet connection. All tours on your watchlist are automatically available offline.

Filters: a very useful function

The useful filter option helps you create a tailor-made mountain experience.
You can filter results for:

  • 6 different activities (mountain hiking, alpinism, climbing, via ferrata, ski tour, snowshoe tour)
  • level of difficulty, time required, height difference, the altitude at your destination, etc.
  • Huts (for more than 150 huts you will find the link to the online reservation system directly in the app)

Premium quality maps

Our app uses the precision Swiss maps issued by swisstopo. Choose between maps and aerial images in scales between 1:10 000 and 1:1 million.

Stay up to date

Use the different map layers to display the latest information such as condition alerts, snow depths, slope gradients and much more. The new "Public transport stops" layer now shows you the next departures and a direct link to the timetable with one click.

Save and share your routes

Save your routes in watchlists. This keeps them neatly organised and quick and easy to retrieve. All tours in your watchlist are automatically available online. Share your tours, tour destinations and huts with your family and friends.

Capture memories

You can upload your personal memo and photos for a tour. These will appear in your personal tour book in your profile.
