Grading systems From F to K6

Information concerning the level of difficulty is vital when planning an outing. This allows you to have a good overview of the skills required. The grading systems vary considerably between different sports but all have one thing in common: there’s a big difference between the lowest and the highest level.

Below you will find a table of the grading systems used for climbing in different countries as well as those used in Switzerland for different mountain sports. These help you assess an outing and provide examples with information concerning the terrain and the conditions. A separate document gives information about the quality of the equipment on climbing routes.
