Hiking or climbing on routes in alpine terrain requires good physical health, meticulous preparation and technical skills in mountain sports. Piz Amalia is not an official name, but the result of a PR campaign in the summer of 2004, which aimed at strengthening the Engadine’s ties with The Netherlands in an unusual way. Princess Amalia had been born shortly before, in December 2003.
