The Capanna Cadlimo at the upper end of Val Canaria is the ideal starting point for peaks in the area, which would be hard to reach in a single day.
Route description
Lukmanierpass – Capanna Cadlimo
From Lukmanierpass (1915 m) take the flat mountain road that runs along the S-bank of the Lai da Sontga Maria (lake) to the small bridge at 1924 m. Follow roughly the line of the summer path up and into Val Cadlimo. Keep to the valley floor where the Reno di Medel (stream) flows and continue up to the site of Lago dell'Isra (2322 m). Now, bear right, leaving the valley floor and traverse the lower slopes of Piz Tanelin and Piz Curnera looking for the best passage between the main slope and various knolls typical of this area. Continue NW past the plateau on your left, diagonally ascending the slope in the direction of the hut. The hut can be found on a shoulder on the ridge, due north of Lago di Dentro (2504 m).
