Climbing area Ibergeregg - Chli Schijen 1500 m Please select a discipline

The Ibergeregg is an all season hiking area linking the Schwyzer Talkessel and Sihlsee, located between the Grossen Mythen and the Hoch Ybrig. Not far from the pass, which can be reached by bus in summer, the rock teeth of the Chli Schijen form a popular and easily accessible playground for ambitious sport climbers as well as climbing families. With more than 70 routes in both steep and slabby terrain, the Chli Schijen is one of the most important 'climbing gardens' of Central Switzerland. Due to the flat, comfortable areas and grill sites, the place is quite suitable for children, even if the range of children's routes is limited. The individual towers are close to each other, are easily accessible and can be descended on foot. Although access is not suitable for pushchairs, it is neither far nor exhausting to reach and is therefore feasible with the 'wee ones'.

At the Chli Schijen there are climbs from the 3rd to the 9th degree of difficulty. The alignment of the walls extends from southeast through southwest to northeast. Climbing here is also possible in winter (especially on the southwest side of the western summit), but according to the altitude there can be a lot of snow creating access issues. The western summit has the highest route density and on its overhanging northwest face the most difficult climbs on Chli Schijen. Easier routes are mainly found on the main summit, while very simple children's routes can be found on the different boulders at the sector Spielwiese.
