Diechterhoren / Diechterhorn 3387 m Route archive

Glaciers stretch almost all the way to its summit. Via the northeast flank it is an accessible vantage point. Starting at the Gelmerhütte, the southwest ridge, however, offers a secluded climb (grade III). Scenic, and as an impressive addition one can also traverse the Gwächtenhorn before descending to Diechterlimi.

The last few metres to the north summit (approx. 3385 m) via the north-east ridge are steep, rocky and quite exposed. Clarifications at swisstopo confirmed that the southern peak (3388 m) is indeed the highest point of the Diechterhorn, even if only within a hair's breadth.
