Gwächtenhorn (Steingletscher) 3404 m Route archive

This striking firn-capped mountain was formerly known as Steinberg. Climbing the normal route is easy and often done. An interesting, but harder option is to traverse from the Tierberglimi on the West Ridge and descend, via the Rotsctock to the Sustenlimi before returning to the Tierberglihütte.

Not to be confused with the other Gwächtenhorn - between Triftkessel and Gelmergebiet!
