Mattwaldhorn 3249 m Mountain hiking
This is one of the most impressive viewpoints of Saastal. On July 16th, 1840, the Swiss mountaineer and draughtsman Gottlieb Studer took advantage of this summit to draw the thousand summits visible from Mattwaldhorn. The famous, very sophisticated panorama was the first of a series of „artistic supplements“ (maps, panoramas) the SAC enclosed in its annual books published from 1864 onward.
