Sasso del Drago 580 m Climbing
The climbing along the road below Villa di Chiavenna certainly offers some beautiful sport climbing. Because of its significance, Sasso del Drago is described in the guidebook for Graubunden, CH, although it stands on the Italian part of the Bergell. Just a few steps above the road, the Main Sector is protected from street noise by a wooded hollow. Sandstone-like gneiss with mostly overhanging, athletic climbing is to be found here. The routes in this sector start at 6b. Directly by the parking, the sector "Drive in" offers easier routes; a certain noise tolerance is needed here, the price of belaying from the car bonnet.
