A hut for the whole family, hikers, climbers, mountaineers and ski tourers alike.

From Räterichsbodensee the hut trail winds up on well constructed steps. Passing through stretches of rhododendron scrub, it leads up switchbacks to a gap and down onto the mysterious sandy beds of the Bächlital, a floodplain landscape of national importance.

Route description

Räterichsboden - Bächlisboden - Bächlitalhütte

From the Räterichsbodensee (Postauto/bus stop) on the Grimselpassstrasse follow the marked mountain trail to the west across the dam and onto the hut path north (right-hand side) of the Bächlisbach stream, up and through the gap to P. 2190 on the northern edge of Bächlisboden. Follow the trail along the edge of this strange beach-like landscape and continue over the wide scree slope up to the hut.
