The via ferrata can be combined with the Glacier Trail for the ascent to (or descent from) the Britannia hut. The result is a very rewarding and varied day trip.
Route description
Access Via Ferrata Britannia
From the Britannia Hut, walk down the Glacier-Trail for approx. 5 minutes to the start of the via ferrata on the right at approx. 2960 m.
Descent Via Ferrata Britannia
From P. 3027, the end of the via ferrata, descend the southwest flank to the Hohlaubgletscher, marked in white and blue. Here you cross under the south wall and return to the Glacier Trail.
