The usual via ferrata on Brunnistöckli is ideal for beginners: not too difficult, not too steep, not too long, but exposed, so that the real via ferrata feeling sets in, even more so than on Rigidalstockgrat which requires a fair bit of hiking until you can begin climbing. Those adept in the technique of clipping the karabiners in vertical terrain, are advised to give Zittergrat a go. This via ferrata runs up vertical walls to Brunnistöckli, and before the suspension bridge merges with the Brunnistöckli via ferrata. The crux of Zittergrat is a layaway traverse. Do not hesitate: take a deep breath, lean out and go – the steel cable will hold, for sure. After all this adrenalin enjoy a beer in the snack bar at the Härzliseeli and watch others climbing up Zittergrat. Cheers!
