The hut sits on a terrace at the end of the long Val di Carassino, high above the Val Soi.
Route description
Aquilesco - Capanna Adula
From Aquilesco, follow the road which winds up to the Luzzone dam (1609 m). In late spring, when the street is cleared, you can drive up to the reservoir by car. Cross the dam using the tunnel inside it to reach the SW corner of the lake; from here follow the road that cuts across the steep slopes of Sasgiüch (steep cliffs below - safe conditions necessary!) to the entrance of the tunnel at 1673 m. Walk through the narrow tunnel (700 m long) to its S exit (1678 m) near Passo Muazz. Cross the pass and contour round to join the NE bank of the Carassina reservoir. From here, shuffle along the somewhat tedious, rather flat Val di Carassino, which leads you past the Alps: della Bolla, Carassino, Cassimoi and Bresciana to the end of the valley, where the water intake is. The hut cannot be seen from here; it is hidden beyond a small rise tot he SW, on the side of Val Soi. A short ascent W leads to the ridge at- or just south of Passo di Peotta/Capella di Termine. Follow the ridge a little, then make a short slide down to the hut terrace at 2012 m.
