A sunny tour to Heitihubel is especially rewarding if there is sufficient snow in the Simmental valley. It is also popular among snowshoe hikers. If you use the public transport system you can traverse Heitihubel by skiing down to Reutigen. The descent is shady and steep.
Route description
Erlenbach – Heitihubel
From the railway station walk to the village to reach the hospital. East of Leidegrabe ascend to the Allmenden terrace. Continue northward to P. 987. Follow the road through Allmedewald and ascend towards Unters Heiti via Wildeberg (1146 m). Shortly before reaching Unters Heidi, turn north-westward to reach the summit.
Descent
On the ascent or southward via Räbersegg: in this case you meet the ascent route at Bächenalmi. If you traverse Heitihubel, you can ski down northward to Reutigen (described elsewhere).
