Since the road from Burglauenen to Alp Hintisberg can be used for a fee, the 1000 vertical metre ascent is not recommended on foot. From the Alp and restaurant, continue driving on a gravel track another 300 m to a parking area (with rustic WC) on the edge of the world.
Route description
Alp Oberläger - cliff base
You can easily approach directly from Alp Oberläger, or you can drive 300 m further along the gravel road to a parking area on the corner before the avalanche barriers. From the parking, descend slightly along the road, then follow the well-trodden path northwards toward the mahoosive cliff.
