The tour begins in Siviez, starting point for a multitude of cableways. Heading off in a SE direction however, it is very easy to find isolation. The route winds its way through many peaceful corners, then ends up in a narrow valley leading to the start of the ridge. Making a depot and continuing on foot allows access to the summit.
Route description
Siviez – start of the N-Ridge
From Siviez (1734 m), ascend NE beneath the Tsa lift, then join the track leading southwards into the forest. Continue along the summer footpath past La Maretse and on to the hairpins. Break away from the path at the top of the hairpins, ascend the slope directly, then bear right (S) to cross above Chervé (2260 m) and round the corner into the Crouye Grandze valley. Follow the valley, narrow in the centre, ascending east of P. 2781 and the small lake at 2849 m to join the ridgeline just E of P. 2957. Follow the broad, WNW ridge to its junction with N ridge coming up from Col d'Orchèra.
P. 3088 - Summit
The final summit ridge can be done on skis, or on foot depending on conditions. Avoid the rockier SW side. From a small flattening near the summit, the final climb is made on foot.
