There are a number of routes to Pigne d'Arolla. Some of them are more difficult than the easiest and most popular one presented here. Cabane des Vignettes CAS makes splitting the tour into two days possible. Enjoy the atmosphere of a mountain cabin in a magnificent glacier landscape by spending the night in the cabin.

Route description
From Cabane de Vignettes ascend to Col des Vignettes, then, slightly descending towards Col de Charmotane, go beyond the three rocky pillars. Now turn right sharply and ascend a steep slope to a glacier terrace at ca. 3400 m. From there go westward on the glacier to the snowy saddle north of P. 3772. On the large and easy ridge ascend to the summit.
If the conditions are excellent and there is no ice surfacing from under the snow, the steep slope north of the aforementioned three rocky pillars can be ascended on skis or on foot, without making the described detour.
