Route description
Medel hut - Gletscher da Medel
From the Medel hut, head southwest around the rocky foot of Fil Liung. Tracks lead up around the rocks to the Gletscher da Plattas. Depending on the condition of the glacier you can either stay close to the Fil Liung (white markings with blue triangles, later cairns) and reach the plateau of the Glatscher da Medel over scree terrain or take a bow towards the west (marked red) and gain the plateau over the steep glacier, demanding when the ice is out.
Glatscher da Medel - Piz Medel
Cross the fairly flat glacier plateau, slowly arcing round to join the not-so-pronounced east ridge of Piz Medel. Climb easily over snow and rock to the highest point.
Descent
Follow the route of ascent.
