The higher you get the better it is.

From the very beginning, it's possible to guess at the spectacular views awaiting you on this tour. And it doesn't disappoint: especially in the upper part you can hardly take it all in, with Lake Maggiore and all the mountains around.

Route description

Cortaccio – Rifugio Al Legn

From the car park (or possibly further down - parking at Pienizzo) head up to Cortaccio. A detour to the left leads to a traditional water pipe hewn out of the rock (Ai canalitt). Back on the main path, follow it up to Penseverone. Now there are two options: both are about the same length; the one on the right is steeper, but also more direct and more beautiful. It leads via Margozzone to P. 1454, then along Costa di Cembia, a striking ridge, up to the hut.

Kleine Siedlung hoch über Brissago, über eine schmale und kurvenreiche Strasse zu erreichen. Kein öV, aber einige Taxiunternehmen in Brissago. (Die nächste Bushaltestelle ist Piodina Paese. Von dort zu Fuss rund 2 Stunden bis Cortaccio.)
