Starting from Trun itself adds two hours of hiking. If lacking in time or fitness, you can also cover the first section to Alp da Schlans by Alpentaxi or the private car (toll road). The new via ferrata that leads through the rocky steps below the hut offers a thrilling alternative - provided you have the appropriate experience and equipment. Whichever route you choose: on top you will be greeted by an overwhelmingly beautiful, lonely glacier world.
Route description
Variant: Trun - Alp da Punteglias
From Trun (852 m) follow the marked path into Val Punteglias and up to Alp da Punteglias (1635 m).
Alp da Punteglias - Camona da Punteglias
From Alp da Punteglias (1635 m) continue along the hiking trail into Val Punteglias. At around 1830, bear right (NE), bypassing the rock barriers, and climb the scree slopes. At ca. 2200 m, cut back left (W) above to reach the hut (P. 2310).
Variant: Alp da Schlans Sut - Alp da Punteglias
From Trun (852 m) take a taxi/drive up to Alp da Schlans Sut. From there, follow the marked footpath west (slight loss in altitude) to Alp da Punteglias, where it joins the main route.
