The shortest approach to the Carschina hut leads from St. Antönien Rüti via the mountain road of Alp Carschina. This route is also possible by bike. A detour via Partnun along the Prättigauer Höhenweg is a bit longer, but more scenic.

Route description

St. Antönien Rüti - Alp Carschina - Carschinahütte

From St. Antönien - Rüti or the paid parking a little further up valley, follow the beautiful hiking trail along the SE facing slope to Carschina Untersäss. From here, take the marked hiking trail / mountain road via the Mittel- and Obersäss to the Carschinafurgga (pass). Turn right to reach the hut just a few meters away.

Variant via Partnun and the Prättigauer Höhenweg

From Carschina Untersäss, continue along the Prättigauer Höhenweg to Partnun (where you can grab a bite to eat). Continue north into the valley, then before reaching the Partnunsee (a 15 minute detour), at P. 1802, turn up to the left. The way is steep at first, but from P. 2094 it flattens out, before leading comfortably past Brunnenegg to the Carschina hut.
