From Heiligkreuz via the North-Ridge. (Normal route) Scherbadung 3210 m
- PD, 2a
- 6–7 h, 1730 m
From Heiligkreuz you will ascend through the Chrieg valley and Schilte to P. 3022, before climbing the N-Ridge. A long climb, which leads in the upper part through large scree fields. The fact that Conway and Coolidge made the effort to climb this mountain, together with their mountain guides (Almer - father and son) is quite a reference!
From Heiligkreuz (1472 m) follow the path into the Chrieg valley (direction Chriegalppass) until P. 1916. Here you must leave the valley bottom, and branch out left towards Schilte. 1¼ hrs.
From P. 1916. follow tracks over the grassy ramp of 'Schilte' and the out into the scree filled basin and a tarn at 2601 m, 3 hrs.
From the tarn, climb up north of a rock hummock through screes to the now extinct Wannigletscher. Around 2850 m, turn right (SE) beneath rock bands, then up through one into another bowl. Move east to reach the saddle around P. 3022 m in the N-ridge, 1½ hours. Climb south up a firn ramp, then over rock and more scree to gain P. 3155, and continue along the ridge. A final short climb (grade 2a) brings you to the summit of the Scherbadung (3211 m), 1 hour.
Follow the route of ascent.
