Oberaletschhütte SAC 2640 m
A massive stone building at the foot of Fusshörner, in the centre of the glacial world around Aletschhorn, Schinhorn and Nesthorn. The cabin is the starting point for manifold ski mountaineering, high mountain and climbing tours. Due to the receding glaciers the direct access across Oberaletschgletscher has become more and more difficult and thus unusable. The new panorama trail via Lochegga is considered a tourist attraction in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
